Hatfield - McCoy Trail System

The Hatfield-McCoy Trails is made up of over 500+ miles of trails and located in the rich mountains of southern West Virginia.  As
one of the largest off-highway vehicle trail systems in the world, Hatfield-McCoy Trails is open 365 days a year and offers
something for every skill level.

Every person visiting the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System, including passengers, is required to purchase an individual User Permit.
Permits can be purchased along with official Hatfield McCoy merchandise at most local merchants of Matewan.

Matewan is ATV friendly!! This means that you can ride your ATV on local roads.
However, you must abide by all local traffic
and safety laws and we ask that you please be respectful of other motorists.

Matewan does have an official trailhead that leads to the Buffalo Mountain section of the trail system. There is a trailhead facility
that offers restrooms and showers for ATV riders.
